In the heart of England, young Rosaleen (Sarah Patterson) finds herself caught between the realms of reality and the fantastical nightmares of the Middle Ages, where wolves and werewolves roam. Her dreamscape is an intriguing mix of the familiar and the eerie: her sister is no more, and her world is shared by her parents and her endearing grandmother, whose captivating tales of werewolves become a nightly ritual. Granny (Dame Angela Lansbury), a wise woman with a flair for storytelling, imparts three crucial pieces of wisdom to Rosaleen – never wander off the woodland path, never indulge in fallen apples, and never trust a man whose brows meet in the middle. These words echo through Rosaleen's life, both in her dreams and her waking hours. One day, Rosaleen encounters a handsome stranger on her way to Granny's house. A friendly wager is placed on who will reach the destination first. Little does she know, this seemingly innocent bet will soon reveal the stranger's true identity, intertwining Rosaleen's life with her grandmother's tales in ways she could never have imagined.
