The Big White (2005)

In the icy heart of Alaska, under the vast expanse of the "big white," dwells Paul Barnell, a hapless travel agent standing on the precipice of bankruptcy. His beloved wife, Margaret, teeters on the edge of her own precipice, one of despair and mental instability. When opportunity chillingly presents itself in the form of a frozen corpse in a dumpster behind his failing business, Barnell Great Escapes, Paul hatches an audacious plan. He decides to pass off this anonymous cadaver as his long-lost brother Raymond, hoping to defraud his brother's life insurance for a hefty sum of a million dollars. However, destiny has a twisted sense of humor. Ted Watters, a tenacious insurance investigator with ambitions of his own, smells a rat. Desperate to earn a promotion and bid farewell to the Alaskan wilderness, Watters is determined to unravel Paul's deception. Meanwhile, a pair of bumbling hitmen-turned-kidnappers, Gary and Jimbo, realize that the body Barnell is using was originally their mark, leading them to abduct Margaret as leverage. Just when Paul thinks his luck couldn't get any worse, the prodigal brother, Raymond, presumed dead and frozen, resurfaces, very much alive and harboring resentment towards his brother. Raymond wants his share of the action, igniting a frenzy of desperation and chaos amidst the snow-covered landscapes of Alaska. In the face of mounting troubles, Paul must navigate this treacherous avalanche of problems. Will he take the money and chart a course for the sunny shores of South America, or will he be buried in the big white? The stakes have never been higher in this darkly comedic tale of love, deceit, and survival.
