Crawford Mackinzie, a flamboyantly gifted hairdresser from Glasgow, finds his life taking a dramatic turn when he receives an invitation from the World Hairdresser International Federation to attend their renowned annual contest in Los Angeles. With the daring documentary maker Martin Samuels and his crew tailing him, Crawford dives headfirst into the glitz and glamour of L.A, unknowingly maxing out his credit card at the luxurious Century Plaza Hotel.
