Ed Crane is a barber living in 1949. His wife Doris is having an affair with "Big" Dave Brewster, her boss. Meanwhile, Creighton Tolliver keeps going on and on about something called dry cleaning. Ed blackmails Dave and Doris but ends up with more than he bargained for when Mr. Tolliver finds out.
