Plot

In the gritty underbelly of the city, seasoned homicide sergeant, Dave Bannion, finds himself embroiled in a web of corruption and murder following the suicide of a fellow officer, Tom Duncan. Duncan, once at the helm of the records bureau, is initially seen as just another casualty of the job's pressure. However, the plot thickens when a call from the enigmatic Lucy Chapman, claiming to be Duncan's lover, challenges the notion of his self-inflicted demise. Bannion, sceptical at first, is thrust into a vortex of suspicion when Chapman is found dead, subjected to a gruesome torture. Ignoring warnings to step down, Bannion becomes the thorn in the side of the city's underworld, a pursuit that tragically ensnares his wife in a deadly bomb attack. Consumed by grief and fury, Bannion resigns from the force, transforming into a relentless force of vengeance against the mobster Mike Lagana and his ruthless henchman, Vince Stone. Simultaneously, Bannion finds an unlikely ally in Debby, Lagana's jilted girlfriend. As they descend deeper into the gangland's brutal labyrinth, their quest for justice becomes a dangerous game of survival. Driven by desperation and the burning desire for retribution, they push the boundaries of the law, unafraid to stain their hands with blood to uncover the truth. "The Big Heat" is a scorching journey of revenge and justice, unmasking the corruption that lurks in the shadows and the heroes that rise from the ashes. It is a tale that reminds us that sometimes, the line between the law and crime blurs in the pursuit of truth, making heroes out of outlaws.
