In the turbulent year of 1986, Annibal Ramirez, a respected Lieutenant Commander of the US Navy, finds himself entangled in a web of international intrigue during a seemingly ordinary shore leave in Jerusalem. His life takes an unexpected turn when he's apprehended and grilled by Mossad agents, who mistake him for Carlos the Jackal, a notorious terrorist with a reputation of being the deadliest in the world. After this startling case of mistaken identity, Ramirez crosses paths with the enigmatic Henry Fields, who operates under the alias Jack Shaw. As the Paris deputy chief of the CIA's counter-terrorism division, Shaw has spent the past decade relentlessly pursuing Carlos, stopping at nothing to neutralize the threat he poses. Seeing an opportunity in Ramirez's uncanny resemblance to Carlos, Shaw embarks on a bold plan to recruit him for a covert operation, a joint venture between the CIA and Mossad. Reluctantly, Ramirez agrees to impersonate the feared terrorist, aiming to discredit Carlos before his current KGB backers and, in turn, dismantle his reign of terror. The operation demands rigorous training to ensure Ramirez convincingly mirrors Carlos's every action, every behavior, even the intimate nuances of his romantic relationships. However, the mission is fraught with peril.
