Plot

The earliest days of the Federation are explored in this series that examines the life of the Starfleet Enterprise a century before James T. Kirk would take it command. The United Federation of Planets has just been formed, and serious human contact with alien species is still in its formative phases. The notion of an intergalactic mission to spread peace and understanding is young, and it would be easy to collapse under the pressures of its mandate. But the steady leadership of captain John Archer and the capable skills of his crew will hopefully help them create a brave new future.
