In the heart of Texas, Eulis 'Sonny' Dewey is a passionate preacher, basking in the warmth of a happy life with his charming wife, Jessie. However, his tranquil world is abruptly shattered when he discovers Jessie's infidelity with a young minister named Horace. In a fit of unbridled rage, Sonny assaults Horace with a softball bat, plunging him into a coma and himself into a maelstrom of guilt and consequences. Despite his newfound purpose and the impact of his good deeds, he finds himself facing the inevitable reckoning for his past crime. Yet, even in the face of adversity, Sonny's love for God and his fervor for preaching remain unshaken, painting a compelling portrait of redemption and faith.
