Trapped in a world of three intersecting lives, we meet Lt. Cristofuoro, a Buffalo detective haunted by his wife's catatonic state in the hospital, who becomes engrossed in the life of Eric Komenko, a young offender set for release on his 18th birthday after having killed his parents. Fierce fascination also grips Lori Cranston, a precociously matured 15-year-old girl, who finds herself the object of unwelcome desires from her boss and her mother's new partner. Obsessed with Eric, Lori meticulously curates a scrapbook about him and, on his emancipation, she clandestinely stows away in the backseat of his car, determined to accompany him on a journey towards Albany where he hopes to rendezvous with a girl. With an unshakeable belief that Eric will revert to his murderous ways, Cristofuoro trails them, a silent guardian in the shadows. From the outset, it's evident that Cristofuoro's ominous prediction is likely to come to fruition, but the enigma lies within Lori's intentions. What drives her relentless pursuit of Eric?
