Plot

Set against the rugged backdrop of Fort Bliss, Texas, "Take the High Ground!" is the compelling tale of Sgt. Thorne Ryan, a war-hardened veteran from the battlefields of Korea. His past is haunted by shadows of bravery and sacrifice, which he now channels into his relentless role as a drill instructor for new Army recruits. Ryan is a paradox, a man whose reputation precedes him, but who may not be the man he is so often depicted as. His friend and fellow instructor serves as his confidante, assisting him in wrestling with the specters of his past. A chance encounter in a bar tucked away in the vibrant streets of Juarez, Mexico, introduces Ryan to a captivating woman who begins to steer his life towards unprecedented directions. As their relationship blossoms, viewers are left to wonder if her influence will be enough for Ryan to reconcile with his past. Will this hardened instructor soften his approach towards his troops or will his past continue to dictate his present? Filmed on the authentic location of El Paso's Fort Bliss, "Take the High Ground!" is a stirring exploration of one man's struggle with his past and his journey towards self-discovery.
