Plot

In the rustic tranquility of Susanna Pass, a grisly discovery sparks a thrilling chain of events. Game Warden Roy Rogers, played by Roy Rogers himself, stumbles upon a brutally slain fawn, the handiwork of two dangerous prison escapees, Bob Oliver (Robert Bice) and Del Roberts (Douglas Fowley). With the local sheriff bedridden, Rogers is thrust into the role of lone guardian, setting off on a perilous quest to apprehend the fugitives. His path intertwines with the spirited ex-bullfighter Carlos Mendoza (Martin Garralaga) and his fiery daughter Rita (Estelita Rodriguez), who prove more distraction than assistance. Meanwhile, the unassuming newspaper owner, Martin Masters (Robert Emmett Keane), feigns ignorance of the escapees' location, hiding a sinister alliance with Roberts. As the narrative unfolds, a diabolical plot is unearthed. Masters and Roberts are plotting to obliterate the local lake and hatchery, not for the thrill of destruction but to seize the oil-rich land beneath. Their scheme involves the ruthless elimination of the property owner, Russell Masters (Francis Ford) - Martin's own brother - and acquiring the title of the property. However, fate intervenes when a recent will surfaces, revealing that Russell had bequeathed the land to his assistant, Kay "Doc" Parker (Dale Evans). This unexpected development sends shockwaves through the nefarious duo's plans. As Rogers edges closer to the truth, an explosive climax awaits, where justice, greed, and survival collide in the heart of Susanna Pass. The bad guys' intentions to dynamite the fish hatchery and seize the oil beneath the lake, and the game warden's relentless pursuit of justice, set the stage for a thrilling showdown.
