In the heart of Berlin, an aging street musician named Bruno Stroszek is freed from the iron grip of prison, carrying a stern warning to abandon his liquor-soaked lifestyle. Armed with little more than a glockenspiel, an accordion, and a spirit worn thin, Stroszek navigates the city's gritty underbelly, eking out a meager existence with his music. His life takes an unexpected turn when he befriends Eva, a weary prostitute weary of her merciless pimps.
