In the quaint, rural heartland, high school music teacher Beth Landon places her reputation on the chopping block when she secures the notorious country music sensation, Jason Keith, to headline her town's cherished Strawberry Festival. Known globally for his one-hit wonder status and infamous for his unreliability, Jason's reputation of canceling gigs and flaunting an attitude isn't exactly music to the ears of Beth's mother Eileen. As the reigning Strawberry Queen and ardent fan of Jason, Beth boldly defends her audacious selection, despite her mother hosting the festival alongside her dear friend Ruth.
When Beth finally encounters Jason in person, maintaining her support proves to be a challenging tune. However, beneath Jason's rock-star facade, a secret from his past holds the potential to resuscitate his faltering career. Beth, along with his manager Ray, persuades him that this humble festival could be the perfect platform to breathe new life into his career and reclaim his fanbase.
