Stranger at My Door (1956)

In the lawless shadows of a bygone era, the infamous outlaw Clay Anderson and his ruthless gang raid the town bank and scatter, each man for himself. Clay, riding as if the devil himself is in pursuit, finds his horse faltering and seeks refuge at a nearby homestead. This secluded sanctuary belongs to the local preacher Hollis Jarret, his fresh bride, and a son from a former union. Clay, under the worn guise of a tired traveler, attempts to worm his way into the safety of this rural haven. But the wise preacher sees through his ruse. He tolerates Clay's presence, not out of fear for his family's safety, but from a place of profound faith and conviction.
