In the shadowy depths of 1975 Guthrie, Texas, a pregnant woman, haunted and hunted, breaks free from the clutches of a perilous sect that venerates St. George. Fast forward thirty years, their son Charles Milford, now drawn back into the dark heart of Guthrie by his father's will and funeral summons, arrives with his expectant wife, Alicia.
