Beneath the looming shadows of the Carpathian Mountains, two English couples - the Kents, consisting of Helen and her husband Alan, along with his brother Charles and wife Diana - embark on a daring vacation, drawn by the allure of the untamed wilderness and the challenge of scaling the mountainous terrain. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they find refuge in a rustic tavern where they cross paths with Father Sandor, a man who emerges from the cloak of local lore, cautioning them against venturing to the ominous castle in Karlsbad.
