Plot

In the shadowy aftermath of the events in Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966), the quaint village is visited by the stern Monsignor Ernest Mueller, a year later. He finds the villagers, whilst free from Dracula's torments, trapped in a spiritual void, refusing to attend mass as the looming presence of Dracula's castle casts an ominous shadow on their church. A chilling reminder of the evil that once resided, they fear its dark influence still lingers. In an attempt to restore their faith, the Monsignor takes it upon himself to perform a ritual to eradicate the castle's unholy taint. The intentions are noble, but the execution is marred by the unwitting village priest who inadvertently resurrects the frozen Dracula during the ritual. Awoken from his icy slumber, the Count is hungry for revenge. He trails the Monsignor back to his hometown, setting his sights not only on him, but also on his alluring niece Maria and her unsuspecting friends. The castle's haunting shadow may have vanished, but the true evil has risen from the grave, marking the start of a terrifying ordeal that will test their faith, courage, and will to survive.
