Caught in the throes of grief, young Lori Anderson reels from the loss of her father in a tragic plane crash, while her mother attempts to stitch their lives back together. Lori finds herself at odds with her mother's every choice, from the sale of their cherished family horse farm to a blossoming romance with the local sheriff. Feeling lost, Lori turns to her father's enigmatic journals, brimming with elements of psychology and metaphysics, searching for solace and answers. In a bizarre twist of fate, another plane crash shatters the tranquility of their horse farm when a potential client, Terry Stockton, meets a fatal end, while his best friend escapes unscathed.
