Plot

In a not-so-distant 9177, the world, and perhaps the universe, has shrunk down to a singular skyscraper rising from an expansive desert. This Representative Building shelters society's elite, including a forgetful king, a powerful mayor, his charming aide Méndez, remaining forces of law and order, a lone admiral, dueling hairdressers, a bartender, a shepherd, religious figures, and the janitor, Eufemiano. A stone's throw away, the rest of the world ekes out a bleak existence in a resource-starved encampment hosting José María, a brusque man with a dream to peddle his delicious lemonade. Upon his attempt to infiltrate the Building, José María gets intercepted by Eufemiano, sparking a chain of events that unravel the delicate equilibrium. Inside, jealousy drives hairdresser Justo to murder his poetic rival, Agustín. The capricious king, however, pins the blame on José María. Defiant, José María persists in his quest to sell lemonade, earning the interest of Méndez who is decreed by the king to bear a future prince. As unrest simmers, Méndez aligns herself with José María and his best friend Galbarriato, who harbors feelings for her. They spearhead a revolt for the rights of the unemployed in the camp. Meanwhile, Justo is haunted by Agustín's ghost, the religious figures join the rebellion, and the law enforcement duo struggles to maintain peace. Amid the chaos, José María, Galbarriato, and Méndez ignite a revolution against the skyscraper, only for the king to devise a startling strategy to quell the uprising. The tale unfurls, revealing the fate of a world contained within a towering edifice and a desolate encampment, intertwined by a riot, a love triangle, and a simple glass of lemonade.
