Plot

In the throes of the Great Depression, an unconventional idea takes root in the mind of Sol Glass: the young women in the stenographic department could be the perfect diversion for weary clients. With society's elite growing tired of the usual fast-paced and hard-edged women, Sol's idea promises an enticing change of pace - offering the girls an opportunity to enjoy dinners and shows while charming the clientele. Tom, however, initially resists the notion of his fiancée, Flo, being part of this unusual scheme. His reluctance crumbles when he sees an opportunity to secure an important contract with the suave Daniel through Flo's charm. But as Flo navigates this intriguing world, she stumbles upon a harsh truth: Tom's unfaithfulness with the flirtatious Birdie. Hurt and seeking solace, Flo finds herself drawn back into the company of Daniel. Their professional relationship flourishes, until the point where Daniel, mirroring Tom's earlier move, needs Flo's allure to secure a deal with the influential Haines. As Flo steps back into the world of dinners and shows, she must navigate the complex dynamics of love, betrayal, and business in a world where the lines between personal and professional are blurred.
