Shahenshah (1988)

In the dimly lit underbelly of the city thrives JK, a notorious criminal mastermind, dabbling in both the realms of illicit crime and terrorism. He casts a net of corruption that ensnares even the gears of government, making him a feared figure. When Srivastav, an upstanding officer of the law, attempts to strip away the veil of JK's criminal empire, he finds himself ensnared in a web of deceit. Framed for a crime he didn't commit, Srivastav is trapped in a labyrinth of fabricated evidence, leading him to a tragic end by his own hand, leaving behind a wife and a son. Years later, his son Vijay Kumar Srivastav emerges from the shadow of his father's legacy, donning the uniform of a police inspector. However, the apple seems to have fallen far from the tree, as Vijay turns a blind eye to the ever-growing crime, accepting bribes with a nonchalant air, and allowing petty crooks to slip through his fingers. However, as darkness descends, the city whispers tales of a mysterious figure clad in black. A menacing vigilante who calls himself "Shahenshah," meting out justice in the dead of night. He operates as a ruthless judge, jury, and executioner, dispensing verdicts against his victims with the cold precision of a guillotine. As the noose of Shahenshah's justice tightens, it seems inevitable that he will cross paths with JK, potentially before the indifferent gaze of the police force even acknowledges the criminal's reign. The city waits in bated breath, as the black-clad vigilante's actions threaten to tarnish the already dubious image of the corrupt police, particularly that of Vijay Kumar Srivastav. The stage is set for a deadly showdown, as the lines between law, crime, and vigilantism blur in the sprawling metropolis.
