Plot

Amid the grim shadows of 1980, the story of "Servants" unfolds within the austere walls of a theological seminary in totalitarian Czechoslovakia. Here, two young students, Michal and Juraj, grapple with the escalating pressure from their tutors, who, in desperate attempt to save the institution from dissolution, are molding their malleable minds into forms deemed satisfactory by the ruling Communist Party. In this relentless tug-of-war between ideological indoctrination and personal beliefs, the students are faced with a critical crossroads. They can either yield to the alluring temptation of collaboration, adopting the easier path that aligns with the regime's expectations, or they can choose the path of resistance, a path that guarantees relentless surveillance from the secret police, the draconian shadow that haunts their every step. "Servants" is a dramatic exploration of faith, choice, and the courage to stand against the overpowering tide of a ruthless regime. Will Michal and Juraj surrender to the looming threats, or will they hold fast to their convictions? This gripping narrative weaves a tale that is as much about the human spirit as it is about the survival of the institution they call home.
