In the heart of New York, celebrated novelist Hannah Ryan is grappling with the harsh realities of life. As she supports her mother in her fierce battle against a life-threatening illness, Hannah's world is further shattered when her husband, Jason Ryan, leaves her for Julia Harper, a fellow writer and once confidante. Despite their divorce, Hannah finds herself entangled in a complicated relationship with Jason, even as she learns of Julia's pregnancy with his child.
In the midst of her emotional turmoil, she endures another blow; her long-standing publishing company abandons her, demanding repayment of the advance for her next book. This leaves Hannah struggling financially, burdened with her mother's medical bills and the alimony payments for Jason. Just as the first chapter hits the web, life eerily imitates art. A real-life murder, mirroring Hannah's narrative, unfolds, drawing the attention of the NYPD and the enigmatic Detective Austin McEwen.
As Hannah is torn between the success of her venture and the horrifying reality of her stories coming to life, she must also navigate her growing attraction towards Detective Austin. As the line between fiction and reality blurs, Hannah finds herself in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Is a copycat serial killer actualizing her tales?
