Plot

From the strategic heart of Switzerland, the enigmatic Russian, Igor Lipovsky, orchestrates a grand and illicit gunrunning operation, his tendrils reaching deep into the ravages of Africa. The French government, determined to sever these tendrils, assembles a team of consummate professionals, Lisa, Brisseau, Loïc, Tony, and Raymond, and saddles them with an audacious mission -- to scuttle one of Lipovsky's vessels, the "Anita Hans," loaded to the brim with illicit arms bound for the war-torn plains of Angola. Code-named "Janus," after the two-faced ancient deity, the mission is as layered and complex as the god it's named after. Every element bears dual significance, every team member's role a labyrinth of hidden meanings, every assumed ally and perceived enemy, a potential switch of faces. As they meticulously weave their web of deception and plan their moves with surgical precision, they follow their orders unflinchingly, their trust in the mission absolute. However, when a cryptic warning from an American agent filters through, urging them to abort their mission, it falls on deaf ears. Their superiors' insistence that they press on only tightens the noose of suspicion. The mission unravels when, despite their seeming success, Lisa is ensnared in a calculated setup, arrested with a hefty stash of heroin at the airport. With Raymond's untimely demise, a chilling truth crystallizes for Brisseau - they've been betrayed. Now, his singular focus is to liberate Lisa from her unjust imprisonment, even as the shadowy specter of duplicity looms large. In the treacherous world of secret agents, where trust is a luxury they can ill-afford, the team must navigate the labyrinthine layers of deceit and betrayal to unravel the truth behind "Janus."
