The Boat That Rocked (2009)

It's 1966, and the people of Great Britain suddenly have access to a whole world of music they otherwise wouldn't. Pirate radio stations based off of boats broadcast pop music and circumvent the classically-focused music of "official" radio stations. The people who run these situations are passionate about music — but they're colorful and eccentric above all else. What they're doing is technically illegal, but it could also potentially shape the culture of an entire generation. And while the egos of these pirate DJs often clash, their passions are the same. Unfortunately, there are those in the government who want to put a stop to them.
