Savarakathi (2018)

In the bustling heartbeat of the city, Pichaimoorthy (Ram), an unassuming barber, finds his life entwined in an unexpected web of chaos and danger. Pressured by his determined wife, Subathra (Poorna), he embarks on a journey to reunite her brother, Raghu, with his affluent runaway love, before her powerful parents can intervene. Their mission, however, is disrupted by a chance encounter with Manga (Mysskin), a volatile gangster on borrowed time, free on parole but doomed to return to prison by day's end. A heated clash ensues, setting off a relentless game of cat and mouse. Manga, fueled by rage and a twisted sense of honor, vows to sever Pichai's limb before the sun slips beneath the city's skyline. With every tick of the clock, Pichai must weave through the city's labyrinth, outwitting Manga and his menacing gang, while his family's future hangs in the balance. "Savarakathi" concludes with a poignant call to humanity - a knife, it insists, should be wielded solely to sever the umbilical cord, a symbol of birth and life, rather than as a tool of harm.
