Plot

In the blistering heat of the Sahara desert, U.S. Army sergeant Joe Gunn, a gritty tank commander, takes his armored behemoth off the beaten path after the disheartening fall of Tobruk in 1942. Seeking to escape the relentless pursuit of Rommel's advancing forces, Gunn and his crew venture deep into the unforgiving desert sands, their only hope to reach the safety of Allied lines. Their journey becomes a thrilling odyssey of survival as they pick up a band of disparate Allied soldiers along the way, each with their own stories etched by the brutalities of war. The growing party faces an increasingly desperate situation when their water supplies start dwindling, pushing them to the brink of endurance. Salvation presents itself in the form of an ancient well, a shimmering oasis amidst the sea of sand, promising the precious elixir of life - water. However, this beacon of hope quickly transforms into a strategic target as an entire German battalion sets its sights on it. The well becomes a battleground, a prize to be won at any cost. With the odds stacked impossibly high against them, Sergeant Gunn makes a resolute decision. Despite the threat of overwhelming enemy forces, they will defend their lifeline, the well. What follows is a tense, gripping struggle as a handful of men take on an army, their courage and resilience tested under the scorching Sahara sun. Will Gunn and his men succeed in keeping the precious water from falling into the hands of the Nazis? Sahara (1995) is a captivating tale of bravery, survival, and the human spirit's indomitable will against overwhelming odds.
