Plot

In the tumultuous year of 1968, Giorgio Rosa, a visionary engineer, dares to challenge the conventions of society. He creates his own nation, "The Isle of Roses," a testament to human ingenuity, standing defiantly off the coast of Rimini. This audacious platform, floating outside territorial waters, becomes a beacon for tourists and the curious alike, its lifeblood pulsating with the rhythm of Esperanto, its chosen tongue. With each new arrival, the island grows, blossoming in fame and fortune. But such unorthodox freedom doesn't sit well with the Italian authorities. They view the flourishing micro-nation as a cunning ploy to evade taxes, a thorn in the side of their jurisdiction. As the world watches, values are put to the ultimate test. The government brands Rosa an enemy, casting a long, dark shadow over his island of dreams. Yet, to reshape the world, one must be willing to bear the brunt of risks and challenges. "Rose Island" offers a riveting tale of idealism and resilience, a lone man's struggle against the tide of conventional authority. It underscores the timeless question – how far are we willing to go for the sake of our dreams?
