Rogue (2007)

In the heart of Northern Australia's Kakadu National Park, a seemingly idyllic wildlife cruise swiftly spirals into a nightmare of monstrous proportions. Pete McKell, an American travel writer with a cynical edge, finds himself in the company of a motley crew of holiday-goers. The group, led by the tough and spirited tour captain, Kate Ryan, is an eclectic mix that includes grieving Russell, brash amateur photographer Simon, and the aristocratic Allen, navigating the jungle with his sick wife and spirited young daughter. Pete, initially dismissed as a 'city-slicker' by Kate, finds himself at odds with the daring woman. However, as the day unfolds, an uneasy truce forms when Kate is persuaded to guide their boat into uncharted territories. The group discovers a secluded lake, but their tranquility is shattered when an unseen danger from the murky depths delivers a thunderous blow to their vessel, forcing them to seek refuge on a tiny mud island.
