Rise of the Gargoyles (2009)

Beneath the gothic vaults of Saint Jean André Church in Paris, two unsuspecting workers stumble upon a clandestine chamber, its floors teeming with hidden treasures. Their moment of discovery shatters when a monstrous creature emerges from the shadows, signaling the dawn of an unspeakable terror. Simultaneously, the scoffed-at Professor Jack Randall finds unlikely encouragement from his friend, Carol Beckham. Despite the academic world rejecting his theories on Gargoyles, Carol urges him to explore the newly unearthed crypt. Night descends and they find themselves trespassing on the sacred grounds, Carol scavenging artifacts while Jack's camera hungrily devours the eerie scene. Suddenly, a winged beast swoops towards Jack, triggering a frantic escape that leaves his camera a shattered ruin. Retreating to a bar, they're shocked as an enormous stone crashes onto Jack's car. Their fear intensifies when Carol is brutally slain by a Gargoyle back at her apartment, her beheading casting Jack into the crosshairs of Inspector Gibert as the prime suspect for a string of unsolved murders. Determined to clear his name, Jack turns to Nicole Ricard, a reporter renowned for sensationalist journalism. He entrusts his damaged film to her cameraman Walsh, and when the distorted footage is restored, it reveals the unthinkable - Jack's monster is real. Armed with the evidence, Nicole and Walsh resolve to return to the church crypt, venturing into the lair of the Gargoyle to unearth the truth that lurks beneath the surface.
