When NYPD cop, Remo Williams, responds to a call only to be ambushed, he is presumed dead and buried the next day. But the truth lies shrouded in a veil of mystery - Remo is very much alive, recuperating in a hospital with his appearance drastically altered. Unveiling the cloak of secrecy, a man named McCleary introduces him to the clandestine organization, CURE.
