Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967)

In the year 2067, Earth intercepts an enigmatic signal from the red planet, Mars. The responsibility to investigate falls on Spectrum, a recently formed international intelligence and anti-terrorist organization. Spectrum's top agent, code-named Captain Black, is dispatched to uncover the source of the signal. His journey leads him to a concealed alien civilization called The Mysterons, who have been reaching out in curiosity to learn about Earth's denizens. However, an unfortunate misjudgment by Captain Black, mistaking a camera for a weapon, triggers an attack on the Mysteron complex. This misunderstanding sparks a chilling war of nerves with the Mysterons retaliating by making terror threats against Earth's VIPs, cities, countries, and even entire continents. Using their unique ability of "Retrometablism", the Mysterons can replicate anyone or anything they destroy, bringing them under their malevolent control. Their first act is to usurp Captain Black's mind, making him their top agent on Earth. Spectrum, now tasked with countering the Mysterons, suffers a blow when Captain Scarlet, another top agent, is killed and subjected to the Mysteron duplication process. However, an unexpected twist occurs when his clone, created while Scarlet was still alive, manages to resist Mysteron control. This turn of events leaves Scarlet with an impressive side effect: he becomes virtually unkillable, able to heal from any wound. Captain Scarlet quickly becomes Spectrum's most potent weapon against the Mysterons. Under the commanding leadership of Colonel White and his right-hand man, Lieutenant Green, Spectrum operates from Cloudbase, a massive flying aircraft carrier hovering high above the clouds. This base hosts an array of formidable vehicles and a squadron of deadly, skilled female combat pilots, The Angels, ready to mobilize at a moment's notice. As the Mysterons announce each new threat, Captain Scarlet, alongside his partner Captain Blue and other Spectrum captains such as Ochre, Magenta, and Grey, must stand ready to thwart the relentless alien menace. United, they dedicate their lives to the ceaseless fight against the Mysterons, the deadly invaders from Mars.
