Primal (2010)

In the heart of the Australian Outback, the intrigue of ancient rock art beckons Anja, an anthropology student, and her five friends, into the uncharted bushland. Their expedition, guided by the driven Dace, is centred around studying an enigmatic remote painting. The initial thrill of their adventure, however, begins to dwindle when Mel, one of their group, emerges delirious and fever-stricken after an innocent skinny-dip in a hidden waterhole. Suddenly, their quest for knowledge transforms into a chilling fight for survival. Mel, now caught in a vicious primal state, becomes a relentless predator. Her friends, once companions, are now her prey. A savage hunger drives her, bringing a blood-chilling twist to their outback expedition. The once familiar Mel is replaced by a beast, her human instincts overpowered by an insatiable need to feed. As the terror escalates, another member of their group begins to exhibit disturbing signs of regression, forcing them into a terrifying dilemma: to kill or be killed. Their only glimmer of hope lies within the confines of a nearby cave. But as they delve deeper, Anja stumbles upon a horrifying truth - the true meaning of the ancient rock art they had come to decipher. Blinded by their pursuit of knowledge, they had unwittingly awakened an ancient legend, now forced to confront its deadly reality.
