"Prick Up Your Ears" unfurls the vibrant tapestry of British playwright Joe Orton's life, characterized by its dazzling spectacle and tragic conclusion. Portrayed by Gary Oldman, Orton's adolescent years see him forming an intimate bond with the more restrained Kenneth Halliwell, a role taken on by Alfred Molina. Although their relationship is not purely physical, Orton's fascination with public liaisons and bath-house encounters starkly contrasts with Halliwell's less adventurous disposition.
As the pair set out on their journey to become writers, it is Orton who ascends the ladder of fame.
