Plot
In the 1949 classic, "Port of New York," investigators Mickey Waters and John Flannery reunite to probe a bold theft of pharmaceutical narcotics from the revered S.S. Florentine. The merciless band behind this audacious crime is led by the suave yet brutal Paul Vicola, a man whose charm only thinly veils his readiness to eliminate any threats to his reign of terror.
Vicola's life of crime starts to unravel when his once-loyal girlfriend meets a grim end due to her growing unreliability. Further complicating matters is Dolly Carney, a nightclub comedian caught in the crossfire, who finds himself tossed from his apartment window when he becomes an unexpected liability.
The narrative takes a tragic turn when Waters is fatally shot in a daring attempt to infiltrate the gang's ostentatiously disguised yacht club in Brooklyn. In the wake of his partner's death, Flannery courageously opts for a dangerous game of subterfuge, assuming the identity of a San Francisco drug dealer to bring the criminals to justice.
This tense cat and mouse chase culminates in a fierce gunfight, flushing out the gang from their hideout. Amid the chaos, Vicola is seized, signalling the downfall of his once formidable empire. "Port of New York" is a compelling tale of relentless pursuit, vengeance, and the tenacious fight against the underbelly of crime.
