Plot

As the 1940s curtain falls, Jackson Pollock, the tumultuous pioneer of abstract expressionism (1912-1956), finds his work celebrated in the illustrious pages of Life magazine. Journey back to 1941, where he is nestled within a minuscule apartment in New York City, sharing his space with his brother. His life is a cocktail of excessive drinking and sporadic painting exhibits in communal art shows. It is in this maelstrom of creativity and chaos that he crosses paths with fellow artist, Lee Krasner. She willingly sidelines her own career to become his ally, lover, promoter, and wife, essentially his personal guardian in the storm of life. To rescue him from the clutches of alcohol, self-doubt, and the relentless pressure of city existence, they relocate to the serene Hamptons. Here, amid nature's tranquility and abstinence from drink, Pollock's style evolves, leading to a critical breakthrough. His unique style garners praise from critics and a call from Life magazine. However, this newfound fame also serves as a beacon for Pollock's old ghosts. The conclusion of his journey is raw, cruel, and abruptly brief, mirroring the tempestuous spirit of the artist himself.
