Skyline (2010)

Jarrod's trip to Los Angeles with his pregnant wife turns into an opportunity for a fresh start when he's offered a job by his successful friend Terry. There's a party at Terry's house to celebrate, and a couple of other friends end up spending the night. But by morning, everything has changed and the promises of the night before cease to matter. Strange blue lights are appearing from the sky and lifting people into huge alien ships that hover above the city. The remaining friends are going to need to learn survival skills quickly if they're going to elude this decimation.
