In the throes of 1942, Gilles, a vibrant young Belgian, finds himself ensnared by the SS's malevolent grasp, alongside his fellow Jews. Thrust ruthlessly into the cold heart of a German concentration camp, he teeters on the precipice of his own demise. In a desperate bid for survival, Gilles swears to his captors, not as a Jew, but as a Persian. This masterfully crafted deception grants him a fleeting respite from death's clutches. However, his respite is short-lived as he is tasked with a daunting mission - to impart the Persian language to Koch, the stern officer presiding over the camp's kitchen. Koch harbors dreams of a tranquil life post-war, running a restaurant in the enchanting landscapes of Persia. Thus, Gilles finds himself in the midst of a dangerous charade, fabricating a language he knows nothing about, one word at a time. As Gilles and Koch's relationship unfolds under the camp's watchful eyes, it breeds jealousy and suspicion in its wake. Gilles is haunted by the ever-looming specter of his deceit being unveiled, each moment a precarious dance on the razor's edge. One misstep, one wrong word, could shatter the illusion - a risk he must navigate with every breath he takes.
