Pelican Blood chronicles the life of Nikko, an eccentric and humorous character dwelling in the heart of London. After a catastrophic split with his lover, Stevie, Nikko is navigating through life one day at a time, immersing himself entirely in his idiosyncratic pastime: bird watching. Just as he starts to find a semblance of peace, the tempestuous Stevie reenters his life, driving a wedge between Nikko and his circle of friends who fear her destructive influence. They remember all too well the dark circumstances under which Nikko and Stevie first crossed paths: on a website for those contemplating suicide, vowing to 'exit life as one'.
As they rekindle their intense, disturbing, and profoundly sensual relationship, Nikko's world, his bond with his friends, and his beloved hobby are thrust into a whirlwind of uncertainty.
