Plot

In the raw and brutal world of the 12th and 13th centuries, an unsuspecting Viking boy is marooned amidst a tribe of American Indians, his destiny abruptly altered. This tale, deeply rooted in Sami legends and inspired by Nils Gaup's Norwegian film 'Veiviseren,' captures an epic struggle between cultures and the indomitable spirit of one young man. After being left behind, the young Viking is initially met with hostility and suspicion by the tribe. Over time, however, he earns their trust, becoming an integral part of the tribe that once viewed him as an enemy. He learns their ways, adopts their traditions, and falls in love with a woman from the tribe, finding a new home amidst the vast landscapes of the New World. But peace is fleeting when echoes from the past resurface. Fifteen years later, the Vikings return, their intentions far from benign. They launch a brutal attack on the tribe that has become the young Viking's family, threatening to shatter the peaceful existence he'd found. Now, stepping into the shoes of a Sami Pathfinder, the young Viking must rise against his own kin. A personal war commences as he fights not just for his adopted tribe and the woman he loves, but also for his identity and the path he's chosen. The stage is set for a dramatic clash of cultures, a test of loyalties, and a fight for love and survival. 'Pathfinder' (2007) is a testament to the power of heritage, the resilience of the human spirit, and the unbreakable bonds formed by shared adversities.
