Parampara (1993)

In a secluded realm of contemporary India, a deadly tradition thrives, one that settles disputes through a duel, with each participant brandishing a pistol loaded with a single bullet. This ominous practice is triggered when Thakur Bhavani Singh, in an act of ruthless dominance, kills Shankar, the leader of a gypsy tribe. As years unfold, Prithvi Singh, the son of Bhavani, returns from London, his path crossing with Gora Shankar, the son of the fallen Shankar. He also meets Tara, Gora's sister, and romance blossoms between them, igniting a spark of defiance amidst the gloom. However, Bhavani Singh, driven by power and wealth, orchestrates Prithvi's marriage with the affluent Rajeshwari, stoking the flames of conflict when he learns of Prithvi's forbidden love for Tara. Caught in a whirlwind of emotions, Prithvi finds himself married to both Tara and Rajeshwari, setting off a chain of events that sees Bhavani Singh's fury unleashed upon the gypsies, resulting in a mass slaughter. Gora, escaping with Ranvir, disappears, leaving Pratap in the hands of Rajeshwari and Bhavani. Fast-forward twenty years, Ranvir and Pratap, unaware of their shared lineage, cross paths. Friendship blossoms between them until the veil of their intertwined past is lifted, revealing an ancient score that must be settled. The specter of their forefathers' tradition looms over them, setting the stage for a deadly duel where only one can emerge victorious.
