Plot

Amidst the bustling, colorful tapestry of an apartment complex live a vibrant ensemble of characters: timid Arthur Earthleigh, trapped in a marriage with the glamorous yet domineering Mae; the free-spirited artist David Galleo, whose muse, the ever-present Deborah Tyler, is his artistic lifeline; and the perpetually tipsy Olive Jensen, a true Greenwich Village spirit with a mantra of "love and let love". One day, Olive, slightly more intoxicated than usual, visits George, an unsuspecting neighbor. In a flurry of panic as he tries to usher her out before his wife returns, Olive loses consciousness. Mistakenly thinking she has died, he hastily stashes her on Galleo's sun-kissed terrace. Ever the opportunist, Galleo seizes this unexpected turn of events to orchestrate a precarious blackmail plot against the hapless Arthur. But his scheme teeters on the brink of collapse as the whimsical Olive proves remarkably resistant to playing dead. This entangled web of mistaken identities, false accusations, and comic misunderstandings forms the heart of 'Out of the Blue', a charmingly chaotic slice of life from 1947.
