Bart Hughes leads a seemingly perfect life in a renovated brownstone in New York, complete with an attractive wife, a young son, and a promising career ladder awaiting his climb. As his family embarks on a vacation, Bart remains, dedicating himself to a project that could secure his much-desired promotion. However, an uninvited occupant residing in his basement has its own agenda, turning Bart's life into an unexpected battleground. As he descends into a frenzy attempting to exterminate this persistent rodent, he inadvertently wreaks havoc on his own home. The relentless struggle between man and beast mirrors the cutthroat competition in his corporate world, subtly tying his domestic turmoil to his professional "rat race". At its core, the narrative revolves around an intense test of endurance fought between Bart and the crafty invader, underlining a primal contest of wills that unfolds in both daylight and darkness.
