The Lonely Mountain is the site of conflict between numerous groups of enemies. The ever-greedy Smaug prepares to ransack Laketown, looking for more treasure to hoard. Meanwhile, the dwarves, led by Prince Thorin Oakshield, who has fallen victim to gold-greed, are coming to claim what they see as their ancestral right to the mountain's riches.
