Trapped in the monotonous humdrum of her small town life, young Sally Kelton yearns for an escape. Her humdrum existence takes a thrilling turn when she encounters Steve Ryan, a wandering musician with a captivating charm. Drawn to his transient lifestyle, Sally plunges headfirst into a whirlwind romance, oblivious to Steve's fleeting affections. When Steve ventures to another city, Sally, fueled by love and a thirst for adventure, follows him. Along the way, she crosses paths with Drew Baxter, a gas station owner in her destination town. Drew, taken by Sally's spirit, offers her a place to stay and a job at his establishment. Despite Drew's sincere efforts to win her heart, Sally remains entangled in her feelings for Steve, who continues to treat her with aloof indifference. Heartbreak strikes when Steve embarks on a trip to South America, leaving behind a desolate Sally. Her sorrow deepens upon discovering she's carrying Steve's child, plunging her into a vortex of emotional turmoil. The story unfolds as Sally grapples with her predicament, caught between her past with Steve and her potential future with Drew.
