Steeped in the rural charm of Uttar Pradesh, the story of Naram Garam weaves the tale of a humble young man, Ramprasad, who earns a modest wage from his superstitious, penny-pinching widower employer, Bhavani Shankar Bajpai. Life takes an unexpected turn when Ramprasad finds himself the caretaker of an ancestral home, reclaimed after a fiercely contested court battle, won in favor of Bhavani Shankar. However, the tranquility of the reclaimed home is disturbed when the destitute Chachaji and his radiant daughter, Kusum, arrive seeking refuge after their house is seized by a ruthless village moneylender. Ramprasad, touched by their predicament, allows them temporary residence in the old manor, complicating his simple life further. The news of the uninvited guests reaches the ears of the stern estate manager, Gajanan Babu, who storms over with the intention of evicting the intruders.
