In the shadowed era of the 19th century Qing Dynasty, an unjust command from the Prince Regent seals the cruel fate of the entire Meng clan, drenched in blood and betrayal. As the gallows loom, the patriarch of the Mengs, with defiance in his eyes and vengeance in his heart, promises retribution for this grotesque injustice. Amidst this grim tableau, a five-year-old Meng boy, Erkui, displays extraordinary courage, his innocent voice piercing the grim silence with a haunting aria.
