Larry Haines, an unremarkable vaudeville performer, finds himself aboard a train destined for the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles, with his unlikely co-star, Percy the roller-skating penguin. While Hollywood may not be rolling out the red carpet for Larry, he remains optimistic, for even a hint of fame beats an ordinary life. As fate would have it, he crosses paths with a captivating blonde during his journey. But she's no ordinary passenger - she's a British agent on a perilous mission, and she's being shadowed by relentless Nazi spies. In her possession, a brooch bearing a coded message that could alter the course of history. Larry and Percy, in their unwitting way, find themselves entwined in her thrilling escapade.
