Plot

In the heart of World War II, Howard Graham, an American ballistic expert and naval engineer, finds himself ensnared in a web of espionage and treachery. Pausing in Istanbul with his wife, Stephanie, for a business rendezvous with Kopeikin, the armaments representative of Graham's company, the couple is thrust into a whirlwind of danger. It's in the seductive haze of a local nightclub, where the enigmatic dancer Josette Martel enchants them, that an attempt on their peace shatters the night. A seemingly harmless magician's show becomes the stage for an assassination attempt on Graham's life by the cold-blooded killer, Banat. Narrowly escaping death, Graham is thrown into the protective custody of Colonel Haki of the Turkish secret service. Unveiling a chilling photograph of Banat, Haki reveals the sinister plot: the Nazi agent Muller has hired Banat to eliminate Graham. With the echoes of war ringing in his ears, Graham is advised to embark on a steamship to Batumi, promised to be a sanctuary from the lurking danger. Leaving his wife in the dark, Graham boards the ship, hoping to outrun the shroud of fear. But as the ship slices through the waves, he discovers a bone-chilling truth: his predators, Banat and Muller, are on board, their gazes fixed on him. Thus, ensues Graham's journey into fear, a voyage fraught with suspense and uncertainty, his life teetering on the edge of a knife. As threats loom over the horizon, Graham must navigate the treacherous waters of deception and terror to survive.
