In the quaint yet unpredictable rural town, Pete Marshall, a dedicated Trotter pollster, finds himself on a wild goose chase for a lost colleague. He happens upon the Fleagle family, an uncouth clan, with Bert and Mert, trigger-happy brothers who take great delight in threatening prying eyes with their trusty rifles. Yet, the family's matriarch, Ma Johnson, redirects their attention towards a more lucrative endeavor - unraveling the mystery of the $70,000 stash hidden somewhere in their sprawling, dilapidated family mansion, the spoils of cousin Bonnie Fleagle's infamous bank heist. Simultaneously, a desperate Claire Matthews enters the fray.
